Swim Lessons

THSRC's SwimSafe Swim Lessons Program offers a wide variety of swim lessons for swimmers of all ages.  Weekday and Weekend sessions are available. Please click here for a flyer with specific information about swim lessons.


Lessons are $30.00 per child per session. Children who are not potty-trained must wear a swim diaper while in the pool.

Frogs & Tadpoles: 11:30am-12:00pm

(Age Guidelines: under 3) Parent and child (9-36 months old) will learn to enjoy the water together

in this class. Parent (or responsible adult) and child will become acclimated to the water through

games and songs while in a group setting. Parent will learn key safety tools to use at pool or near water.

Flounder: Water Exploration: 11:00am-11:30am or 11:30am-12:00pm

(Age Guidelines: 3-7) Child will become acclimated to the water through games and will learn basic

safety skills in addition to water submersion and floating with support. Students will need to be

capable of being in a class setting without parent involvement. No experience necessary.

Jellyfish: Primary Skills: 11:00am-11:30am or 11:30am-12:00pm

(Age Guidelines: 3-8) Child will expand on the skills learned in the Flounder class and learn to be in

the water unassisted in both front and back positions while learning to propel themselves through

the water using either arms or legs.  Students placed in this station have already achieved a sense

of water acclimation and no longer show hesitation in a pool setting.

Octopus: Stroke Readiness: 11:00am-11:30am or 11:30am-12:00pm

(Age Guidelines: 3-10) Child will learn fundamental freestyle and backstroke skills with emphasis

placed on the coordination and timing of the strokes as well as the development of a strong flutter kick.

Clownfish: Stroke Development: 11:00am-11:30am or 11:30am-12:00pm

(Age Guidelines: 3-12) Child will work to improve their freestyle and backstroke while learning all

four competitive strokes. Empahsis will be placed on developing strokes that are swim meet legal. 

Seashorse: Stroke Refinement: 11:00am-11:30am or 11:30am-12:00pm

(Age Guidelines: 3-14) Child will refine all four competitive strokes while gradually increasing strength

and endurance in each stroke. The ultimate goal is to swim each of the four strokes legally for the specified distance.
